To unlock this achievement you must read a text, approved by your teacher, that either derives from the Western Literary Canon, or if it’s a contemporary text, that you would like to argue should be included in the canon in the future.
You must read the text in your own time and then write a journal entry that gives and overview of the story and characters and explains what particular feature of the text stands out. Why is it regarded as a classic of its type?
This achievement can be unlocked up to four times – once for every time you load the canon. Each time you complete reading one of your texts and write your argument supporting its inclusion in the canon, you’ll get a Load the Canon badge. You can also elect to unlock a speaking achievement by presenting your findings to your class if you want to.
We encourage you to use your online portfolio to complete your Reading Journal entries.
