To unlock this achievement you must use a range of linguistic or figurative devices to create a field of meaning in your writing. Your piece must conform to the following criteria:
- All devices used must adhere to their formal rules
- Possible devices may include: personification; metaphor; hyperbole; rhetorical question; simile; allusion; alliteration. These are to be used as a guidance, however, and the writer may use other devices in their work
- Devices used must follow on from one another; each device helps to contribute to the previous device’s meaning
- Devices used must be appropriate to the nature of the ideas that the writer wishes to express
