To unlock this achievement you must adapt a piece of literature and bring it into line with a modern audience’s expectations. This will involve carefully studying the form and content of the work and making decisions about how it can be presented for today’s reader.

• The writing will draw on knowledge of the original.
• The adaptation has a clear genre and aims at audience engagement.
• The conventions of the genre are used.
• The piece should be of comparable length to the original, which should be an extract of 5 minutes or 600 words minimum.
